Observability & Evaluation

How project execution becomes inspectable, measurable, and auditable.

Purpose

This document defines how the toProject system should make execution visible and judgeable.

Block Position

Inside the toProject board, this page belongs to the Execution Architecture block.

Core Position

Activity is necessary but not sufficient.

The system also needs explicit observability and evaluation layers.

Observability

The platform should expose:

  • run traces
  • runtime state
  • artifact lineage
  • cost and token usage
  • failure signatures
  • timing and latency

Evaluation

The platform should also expose:

  • success criteria checks
  • artifact quality checks
  • runtime degradation signals
  • review outcomes
  • acceptance outcomes

Why This Matters

Without observability:

  • runs are opaque

Without evaluation:

  • runs are visible but not judgeable

Both are required for a trustworthy human + agent execution system.

Boundary

This page defines inspectability and judgment layers.

It does not define the whole object model or runtime policy itself.
