toMemory

Memory board documentation for retrieval, schema views, and persistence surfaces.

toMemory is the board for recall, persistence, retrieval surfaces, and schema-facing memory presentation inside Topoo.

Its purpose is to define how stored context becomes visible and usable across the product without collapsing memory into chat history, documents, or project data.

What this board owns

This board should document:

  • memory-facing UI surfaces
  • retrieval and recall presentation
  • schema visibility
  • persistence expectations at the product surface layer
  • acceptance rules for how memory appears in other boards

The board should answer:

how does memory become an explicit product surface rather than an invisible implementation detail?

Core thesis

Memory is not just storage.

Inside Topoo, memory must be:

  • retrievable
  • inspectable
  • bounded by schema
  • clearly distinguished from authored documents and project objects

If these boundaries are blurred, the product becomes hard to reason about:

  • chat history gets mistaken for memory
  • project structure gets mistaken for persistent knowledge
  • documents get mistaken for system recall

This board exists to prevent that drift.

Major topics that belong here

This board should grow into pages such as:

  • memory surface overview
  • retrieval and recall experience
  • schema display and inspection
  • persistence boundaries across boards
  • memory references inside agent, work, and project surfaces
  • acceptance criteria for memory visibility and correctness

Relationship to other boards

  • toAgent uses memory, but does not define memory as a product surface.
  • toWork may render memory-backed references, but does not own retrieval behavior.
  • toProject may hold execution evidence and assets, but that is not identical to memory.
  • TopooUI owns the reusable UI patterns used to display schemas, references, and recall states.

Current direction

The toMemory board should become the place where:

  • memory is made explicit
  • retrieval behavior is understandable
  • schema presentation is stable
  • product boundaries around persistence stay readable

That clarity is necessary if memory is going to function as a trustworthy system surface.
