Configuration

System-level configuration map across Topoo workspaces, Projects, Nodes, connections, and execution clients.

Topoo configuration is organized by authority. A setting should live at the narrowest level that can own it without forcing users to repeat durable context in every task.

Configuration hierarchy

LevelOwns
AccountPersonal identity, profile, security, and user-level preferences.
WorkspaceMembers, roles, external connections, source providers, developer connections, and organization policy.
ProjectNodes, Agent identities, Environments, Resources, release policy, Production authority, and audit.
NodeSource and build contracts, Context, Checks, Resource Bindings, versions, and delivery history.
SessionOne temporary grant binding an external execution session to an Agent identity, Project, Node, Base Revision, and allowed actions.

Account connection, Project access, Session authority, and Production approval are separate grants.

System configuration surfaces

Topoo should expose these shared configuration areas:

  • Identity and access: accounts, Workspace membership, roles, and revocation
  • Connections: Git providers, external execution clients, MCP, and later provider integrations
  • Project structure: Nodes, dependencies, Environments, Resources, and release policy
  • Agent configuration: durable responsibilities, prompts, operating procedures, tools, and allowed scope
  • Developer configuration: API access, webhooks, audit access, and integration credentials

Product-specific settings remain inside the product that owns them. Deployment configuration, for example, is detailed under Topoo Cloud Deployment.

Connection model

External systems should be configured once at the Workspace level and then granted to Projects and Sessions with narrower permissions.

Workspace connection
→ Project permission
→ Node scope
→ short-lived Session Grant
→ audited action

Long-lived credentials must not be placed in prompts, repository manifests, URLs, or change summaries.

Current implementation boundary

This page defines the system configuration model. It does not claim that every listed settings surface is already available.

  • Deployment configuration and interaction placement are documented as a target model.
  • Remote MCP, OAuth-backed Session Grants, and public API configuration remain planned until their endpoints and user flows are independently verified.
  • Documentation must show Not connected, Not configured, or Unavailable when live configuration state cannot be read.
